Police in Alabama are searching for a woman who went missing after reporting seeing a toddler on I-459 Thursday night.

Investigators say 25-year-old Carlethia “Carlee” Nichole Russell stopped near mile marker 11 just before 10 p.m. Thursday after she saw a toddler walking on the side of the interstate. A $25,000 reward is being offered for information.

After calling 911, Russell stopped to check on the child and called a family member to report the same details. The family member lost contact with her, but the line remained open.

She's my life, she's our baby girl," said her father, Carlos Russell, while holding back tears. "Irreplaceable, irreplaceable. We are keeping the faith.

Officers who were already on the way to the location of the initial 911 call found her vehicle and some of her belongings nearby, but were unable to find her or a child in the area.

Hoover Police have not received any other calls of someone missing a small child.

Russell was last seen wearing a black shirt, black pants and white Nike shoes. Her mother, Talitha Russell, implored the public to keep her daughter in mind. Police said any tip, no matter how small it may seem, may prove helpful.

"Just anything you can all do, if you see something at Walmart, Target, McDonald's, anything, if you can just pay extra attention and take extra precaution and report anything abnormal," she said.

Anyone who believes they may have seen Russell or may have any information about this case is asked to call Detective Brad Fountain at 205-444-7562.

While police are investigating the disappearance, Russell's family, friends and the community are also looking for her. A search party was held on Friday at the Hoover Met.

“She is sweet, love her family, that’s why we’re all here came out to support,” said John Cole, a relative of Russell.

Some people drove from as far as Atlanta, Georgia, to help in the search.

"Our family, friends, loved ones, just different people from the community have come out here to have a search party for her just to raise awareness and you know get the word out and get her back home,” Kennedi Spurling, a close friend of Russell.
